Sampai sekarang saya masih ingat sepenggal Mahfudzot peninggalan pondok saya pas MTs dulu. mungkin sederhana, tapi ternyata sangat banyak terjadi dan tak dirasakan pelakunya. mungkin sudah banyak yang tau tapi saya cuma ingin mengulas sedikit.

Artinya : "Janganlah kau takjub atas seorang penghancur bagaimana ia melampiaskan hawa nafsunya, Tapi takjublah pada seorang yang selamat karena bertahan dari nafsunya tersebut"

"Keren banget tu orang teroris berhasil ngeledakin bom" atau mungkin "Salut gue ama anak alay, myemir rambut kan susah", tapi bukan itu yang harus kita takjubi. bagaimana kita dapat takjub pada seseorang yang bahkan nafsunya saja telah berhasil menggerogoti hingga mulutnya. yang harus kita ambil sebagai pelajaran adalah Betapa hebatnya ornag pintar yag sanggup membuat bom namun tak meledakkanya. Betapa indahnya masjid tersebut karena dibuat oleh seorang hamba Allah yang namanya saja tak terketahui.

Corruption, What???

 Before i continue my speech, i want to ask you all. What is corruption? Yeah, so many answers for this question.        Maybe, one of us know that corruption is when you take your organization’s money in the illegal way, or maybe corruption is one of a bad activity or maybe someone can call it as an Indonesian’s habit. Who knows? But i want to talk (to) you about what corruption really is. Okay, Morris, a professor of politics said that, corruption is the illegitimate use of public power to benefit a private interest. dr. Petrus van Duyne:

 Corruption is an improbity or decay in the decision-making process in which a decision-maker consents to deviate or demands deviation from the criterion which should rule his or her decision-making, in exchange for a reward or for the promise or expectation of a reward, while these motives influencing his or her decision-making cannot be part of the justification of the decision.

 Example: I am the member of one of my school’s organization. And I am the treasurer. So, it means that I am the manager of all money. That’s why it’s very possible for me to take some money. And one day i do it. Of course all of you have known what  corruption is. And I am sure that all of you also have already known about these names. Such as: Anas Urbaningrum, Djoko Susilo, Antasari Azhar, or the beautiful one Angelina Sondakh, with their own cases, and all cases are about corruption. So, I am standing here i want to tell you all that I am disagree about corruption.

First, let’s talk about how corruption can happens. Low ability from the government members, and from the security members. And also, modern people with their character which is full of individualism, materialism, and will never be happy even they’ve already had much money. That’s it ! There’s no Satisfy feeling in the human brain. They will do anything for money. Some of them. Or maybe, many of them. Corruption is one of the way for getting money instantly. Politic is the most dangerous world. Maybe, one of us have ever thought that I want to be one of the politicos, who is working in the government, or beside our president becoming one of the ministry. We ever think that we can fight the corruption activity when we become a politicos. Because we think that we’ve already had a big iman for becoming one of them. But, in the reality, it’s not as easy as looked. We will be difficult to differentiate who friends really are and who enemies really are. And no friend in that world, only relation. Are you sure that you can walk through that condition? We don’t know.

The other causes (Merican, 1971), are:

1.      The remains of the last government

2.      Poverty and stratification

3.      False setting

4.      Low income

5.      Modern perception

Second, what is the effect? Corruption has many effects. But first, i want to talk (to) you about what its effect for Indonesian children’s psychology.

They will hear the word of corruption since their childness. They would think that corruption is the usual activity. How about Indonesian character? Indonesian youth generation? Corruption is not only a big thing just what we see in the television everyday as what our some leaders did. It happens also in the small thing beside us. Such as: lie, cheat, steal, bullying, are some of the habits that called as a small corruption/corruption training. Want to grow with that things of cultures? Of course not.

And also, the money for our nation’s growth will be lost. All Capital for infestation, subsidies, for fighting poverty will be taken by someone irresponsible.  And it will make instability in our country. Social conflict, social revolution, social stratification, will be happen.

Every corruption is terrible. Even only Petty corruption (a small number of people), Government corruption, or systematic corruption. How to fight it? We can fight it but i think it’s a little bit impossible for fully-losing it. There are two ways for fighting this. Preventive and Repressive. But actually the most effective way for fighting this is how to rise up the people’s awareness, that actually all of us as a civilization have a responsibility to be a participant in our politic life (government). And the other way is to make a honest climate in our country, that may our leader become a honest and responsible  government apparatus . More selective on choosing the government and security apparatus, and no caring politic money around us. Inform the deviation on working and don’t worry, the police will protect you.

And the last but the most important is, i want to suggest and persuade you to fight corruption together. I’ll repeat, TOGETHER. Rise up our awareness, no caring money politic, work honestly, inform the deviation and no worry. And of course... Avoid corruption, from the little things beside us.
